Well I forget about blogging, then I have family and friends bug me that I haven't updated for awhile so I remember when I'm not next to my computer. Then I was without Internet... I know excuses, excuses.

But I have Internet now!! My very own!

So today is the one year mark of my blog. I've only posted about 30 times in the past year. I'll try to beat that number this next year. Starting today.

My first post on this blog was about my dad. So again here I am posting about him. It's been six years since he passed away, and it feels like just yesterday he was here. You would think that after six years it would get just a bit easier, and it has a little, but I still constantly think of him and what it would be like if he was here. I miss him. But when you take a good look at my family and all that we do, you can see him daily. In our words, actions, passions and loves in life. It's amazing. :)

I love Disneyland, and yes I have a annual pass to the park. And with this pass I get email updates all the time. One of these emails promoted the "What will you celebrate?" tour. A tour you say, well of course I had to investigate. It turned out that the tour was coming to the South Town mall. Yes I had to go and see what it was all about and I brought along my sister, brother and niece. It was nothing much but we had a fun time, shopped around, had lunch, got some Mickey head balloons and enjoyed the small part of Disney that came to our part of the world.

One of my very favorite shows is Battlestar Galactica, and it's in it's final season and has only 8 episodes left. I love it. Yes I admit that I might be a little obsessed, and even watched the original series from 1978 to expand my Battlestar knowledge. So as I was obsessing today about who the last Cylon is, do I need a BSG t-shirt, and various other little things that has to do with the show, I remembered these fun pictures from Comic-Con last summer. Breanne, Pat and I went to the San Diego for the con and ran into this amazing life size Cylon. It was so cool! I can't wait for this next July to see what we run into this year. :)

Fun times in October

October was a busy and fun month for me. I made 3 trips to California ( Two for work, one for fun ) Xander and Billy had fun birthday parties and then there was Halloween. Way to much fun packed into 31 days. Here are a few pictures of all the adventures.

"Dead Zone"

So I'm in California (again) to help another Super Target with their grand opening. I'm right outside of Palm Springs, which by the way I think has way to many Palm trees, in the city of Indio. Indio is a cell phone DEAD ZONE!! It's my last night here and it's close to midnight (1am in Utah) and I have just finished a 11 hour shift and I now realize I have been in a dead zone for 4 days. As I move around town I have received a few text messages here and there, but a majority of what I have sent and what people have sent to me are lost in the cell phone DEAD ZONE of Indio. UGH!!!! So as I chill in my room and watch Will & Grace, I have placed my phone in the one place in my room that has a signal, in hopes that all the text messages floating around in the universe meant for me will reach me somehow. Oh how I hope. :)

Work & Fun

Work is keeping me very busy here in California, I'm loving helping out in the new store. Everything is so shiny and new, I'm jealous and want to bring all the new stuff home with me to my store. I have been able to hang out with other Target team members that are here helping from Colorado, we went to a casino last night and had a good time. I played Black Jack at a table for the first time and did well. I loved it. Today after work we took a trip out to Oceanside to the beach. It was crazy hot, and the water was really cold, but it was so fun. :)

AIRPLANE

OK so the title of this post is a bit misleading. Sorry I'm not here to talk about the movie Airplane. A very funny movie, and watching it now as an adult, I'm surprised that my parents let me watch it when I was younger, but any way, not talking about that movie. :)

My story is about my fun experience at the airport today. I got there in plenty of time ( thanks mom for the ride ) and there were no problems getting on the plane, the fun began when we were taking off. It's weird to explain, but it's like riding a roller coaster. We were going so fast and almost off the ground and bam, the flight was "aborted" ( the fancy term the pilot used ). So hey why not lets try and take off again. No go. 2nd time around, almost off the ground and again - aborted. Turns out there was something wrong with the lever on the wings or something. Anyhoo.... we went back to the terminal and de-boarded ( I like using the fancy aviation terms ) the plane. So after a bit we got a new plane, and finally two hours after I was originally supposed to take off I was in the air on my way to California, sadly not for vacation, but for work.

So the word Airplane has a new definition for me....... what a fun day. :)

Today I finally got a DVR! Hence the title - Yay!! I have now stepped out of the VCR era and have embraced the new technology ( well new for me, old for everyone else ) So YAY!!! I'm now going to go play with my new toy. :)

Last Friday I got to go swimming with most my family. We had so much fun, the kids are a blast when they get near the pool. Max is half fish and could live in the water, Xander loves the water when he has a noodle. Conli is afraid of the pool this summer and sits on the stairs. Mara gets in the pool but holds on for dear life. We are all excited to see how the summer goes, hopefully all the kids will transform into half fish just like Max. :)

Summerfest

Last weekend was the Orem City Summerfest. There are fun carnival rides, craft booths, lots of food, a night parade and fireworks. I had a really fun time at the parade with my family. My nieces and nephews are crazy funny and were so excited for every float in the parade. When Conli grows up she wants to be a princess in a parade. :) The fireworks are the best around. They last at least 15 min and go non stop, no lul in the show. Ok so they are the 2nd best after the fireworks at Disneyland, but the best in Utah. :) So i'm trying my first slide show to share all the pictures from the fun night.

Yes I'm a slacker! So many things that I want to post about and then I get busy and then I get lazy, so watch out, take a seat, and be prepared for a lot of stuff. :) oh and more to come later. :)

Our first attempt to open the cabin.

A few weeks ago Brent, Pat, Breanne, mom, Xander, Mara, Max, Conli and I drove down to our cabin to open it for the season and have just a fun time with the family. Well as most everyone knows the weather this year has been interesting to say the least. It had been raining a lot, and we woke up to a fun storm but decided to try and open the cabin anyway. No such luck, rain and dirt roads equal mud. Lots of mud! My mom's 4 wheel drive car made it about half a mile on the dirt road and my little car went just a few hundred feet. So we ended up turning around and going home after a good lunch at TCees. I did enjoy the fun ride with my niece and nephews. They always make me smile. :)

Gay Pride

Sunday June 8th was the Utah Gay Pride celebration. I have never been to pride before, I have always wanted to go and support my brother and best friend, so this year when Clayton and Paul asked me to help out and be in the parade with them, I was excited! Really, really, really excited! Paul works for Wells Fargo and he was asked to be a line captain and on the committee for the Wells Fargo float. It was the coolest thing ever! More than 60 employees and friends got to wear different color shirts to make a rainbow and hold balloons while walking in the parade. I got to wear green and carry a 9 foot pole of green balloons. I had the best time ever! We all looked so so cool lined up with our shirts and balloons. Here are some pics from that day. :)

Kylie got her mission call to Little Rock, Arkansas. She will be leaving for the MTC on September 3rd. Here are a few facts about Arkansas.

I have had this stuck in my head all day! So here is the story. -

My nephew Max and niece Conli are so cute. They love to always watch movies with me when I babysit. They go through phases with the choice of movies to watch. So it's been fun to watch old movies like Flight of the Navigator, and newer movies like High School Musical with them. The movie they are obsessed with now is Harry Potter or Marry Potter as Conli calls it. (So cute) So last night all of us were at my mom's, we had finished dinner and were playing Catch Phrase and we can hear Max and Conli in the kitchen saying over and over - Snape, Snape, Snape then a random Dumbledore. I laughed, they are being cute and random, all my nieces and nephews are, they make me giggle. My sister-in-law Lisa explains to us that there is a funny video on YouTube that has puppets in it and that is what the kids are repeating. So here it is for everybody to see.

Get prepared to have it stuck in your head forever. :)

Season 4 of BSG starts tonight!

I fraking love this show! :)

Ok if you don't know me or you haven't noticed, i'm a sci-fi geek. I grew up watching the original BSG with my dad. He was a huge fan of Star Trek, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, X-files, and other sci-fi shows. So I have a great love for sci-fi to.... I enjoy watching Lost, Lord of The Rings, Star Wars, Heroes etc, etc...... but I LOVE to watch BSG. I am so excited for the start of season 4 tonight, this season we will find out the idenity of the last cylon and see the journey to find earth. lol I'm excited. :)

So most people know that I have a new position at Target, I am the Bakery Team Lead. It's a whole new job but with the same company I've been with for century's.

I am learning so much, but my favorite thing is learning how to decorate cakes.

My sister-in-law Lisa was brave enough to ask me to do something for my niece Conlis 3rd birthday.

Conli chose the Disney princesses, I was so excited she did, here is my very first decoration job. :)

The roses where the hardest part, but so much fun.

I'm not an expert yet, but I'm ready for more chances to decorate. :)

Monday night the Ramey clan went out on the town for a fun night of bowling. My nephew Xander has been so excited that we were going "Real life bowling". Cause the obsession lately has been bowling on my mom's Wii. So we left the house for a fun life experience. :)

So today it has been 5 years since my dad passed away. It is weird to think that it has been that long ( oh and weird that my hair used to be that long :) ). I'm not great with expressing my emotions with words but my sister posted about my dad and I echo everything that she said. I miss him, I miss his hugs that made me feel so safe. I miss his passion for everything in life. I miss the chance to fish with him. I am so grateful that I learned so much from him.

" The first guy to ever love me. First to sweep me off my feet or plant those scratchy whisker kisses gently on my cheek. First man to take me seriously. First pal I ever had. First guy I ever gave my heart to ........ my dad.
